Pipe Line 6"/ Grade X52 & X42 / NACE MR0175 / API 5L/ PSL2 / Sour Service/ Hebei Long Way
This 6 inch line pipe casing is a high-performance steel pipe designed specifically for sour service environments containing hydrogen sulfide (H₂S). It fully complies with NACE MR0175 (equivalent to ISO 15156), which guarantees excellent resistance to Sulfide Stress Cracking (SSC) – a critical requirement for oil, gas, and petrochemical projects operating in corrosive conditions
From a dimensional perspective, this pipe features a nominal size of 6 inches, with an exact outside diameter of 6.614 inches and an inside diameter of 6.06 inches. The wall thickness is 0.28 inches (7.11 mm), which matches Schedule 40 & 80 for 6-inch pipes, delivering robust mechanical strength for moderate to relatively high working pressures. The nominal weight is 18.8 pounds per foot (ppf), approximately 27.9 kg per meter, making it easy to use in load calculations, stress analysis, and pipe line design
The most distinguishing feature of this product is its compliance with API 5L PSL2 quality level. Unlike PSL1, PSL2 imposes stricter requirements on chemical composition, mechanical properties, Charpy V-notch impact toughness, and non-destructive examination (such as ultrasonic or radiographic testing) on every pipe length. Therefore, this pipe is the ideal choice for critical, high-reliability applications where safety and operational integrity are top priorities
This pipe is available in two grades: X42 and X52. Grade X42 offers a minimum yield strength of 42 ksi (approximately 289 MPa), while Grade X52 provides 52 ksi (about 358 MPa). The selection between them depends on your design pressure and mechanical load conditions. The pipe is manufactured using ERW (high-frequency electric resistance welding), which results in a smooth, uniform weld seam with a narrow heat-affected zone and proven field reliability
Primary applications include: casing pipes for sour oil and gas wells, sour crude and wet gas transmission pipelines, water and gas injection systems containing H₂S, and offshore structures (when combined with proper anti-corrosion coatings)
